Kshitiz is a Passionate Designer & Educator. His research interests are in Design Thinking, Enhanced Pedagogy Patterns, User Experience, Design for Social Impact and Innovation. He is an MS graduate (2009) in Human Computer Interaction Design from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, where his thesis was on Design For Social Impact. He did his Bachelors in Design from IIT Guwahati in 2005.
Presently he is the Managing Trustee and Co-Founder of the Happy Horizons Trust, a social enterprise that works to improve the quality of education in schools across India through intervention programs using design, technology and community-based learnings.
He has a rich experience in the education domain. Prior to this he served as the Director of India Studio of L’école de design Nantes Atlantique, a leading French Design School and built a Master Program in Transcultural Design, that led to many award-winning designers. As the Director (Academics), he also helped in setting up the Design college, The Design Village in Noida. He was responsible for the creating of course curriculum for various Design programs, recruitment of faculty and working together on course execution with an emphasis on experiential learning. He loves telling stories and is a regular speaker at various Design and Innovation forums, where he emphasises on the importance of design.
He is also a Teach For India x (TFIx) Fellow (2017-18), and was a Jagriti Yatra Fellow in 2013. He is a recipient of the IIT Guwahati Alumnus Excellence Award in 2014. His passion includes traveling, photography and meeting people from around the world. He is also the serving president of the IIT Guwahati Alumni Association.
