Ashish is an engineer turned education sector contributor with over 11 years of experience across IT services, Skill Development and Education with strong desire and commitment to contribute to the tribal/rural education. He has been working in maoist affected tribal Chhattisgarh since 2012 on improving the academic level in schools and empowering community to contribute in the education space.
His personal interest lies in involving community to improve academic level in schools, how students can self design their learning processes through co-creation of content and pedagogy and using technology as a tool for capacity building of teachers instead of students.
With over 8 years of experience prior to Sukma and Dantewada, he has worked with corporate like Infosys and NIIT in software designing, testing and using technology for skill development for over 6 years .He has been associated with the education since last 9 years as part of social initiatives Prarambh, Bachpan Banao , Parakh and now Shiksharth. He also co-founded AwakIND which was India’s first socio-political technology platform in 2008.
Apart from this, he is also a Teach For India Fellow and an Acumen India Fellow. He has been volunteer consultant to small-size non-profit organizations. As a believer and practitioner of philosophy of ‘giving’ he has been an active volunteer promoting Daan Utsav ( formerly known as Joy of Giving Week ) since 2010 which is India’s largest festival of giving.
