Wipro Cares has initiated Learning Enhancement Programs at schools catering to children from the underprivileged section of the society. The main objectives of these programs are to improve the standards of learning, building confidence, igniting curiosity and improving the ability to communicate in English. We work through a dedicated set of volunteers.
Wipro Cares currently has seven chapters:
BANGALORE CHAPTER:

Volunteers visit St. Henrietta’s, St. Euphrasia and KRLS Patel Rama Reddy School and make a difference to the lives of the girls from ROCKFund. The volunteers help the children with regular school subjects. Apart from this, the volunteers provide these children a larger perspective of life and emotional strength. They also organize extra-curricular activities for the girls. |

At Anadaana, the volunteers get an opportunity to teach children at an orphanage through Skype. The volunteers pick a topic from the provided list, make a short lesson plan (based on already provided examples), choose a time of a day , preferably in the evenings and teach. Each session lasts for around 20-25 minutes. |

At Jalahalli School, the volunteers help the children with their school curriculum. |

At the Infant Jesus Charity Home, volunteers engage with orphans and poor children with single parent. Planned activities for these children include indoor games, singing, dancing, drawing and general knowledge sessions. |

National Federation of the Blind in Bangalore runs a hostel for visually challenged boys, who come from remote parts of Karnataka to pursue their college education in the city. The Wipro Cares’ volunteers help these students by reading and recording text books and books of general interest, typing and editing Kannada and English work, scanning the notes, assisting in assignments, teaching English grammar and spoken English, giving tips on personality development and acting as a scribe during exams |
CHENNAI CHAPTER:

The Olcott Memorial School in Besantnagar, Chennai is a 110 year old Tamil medium school, run by the Theological Society. Here, the focus is to build communication and team building skills of the students |

At Thiruvika School, Shenoy Nagar, we engage with children by helping them learn and enhance their creativity. |

Along with Sai Samithi, volunteers assist visually challenged college students with their assignments and by acting as scribes for their exams |

Volunteers reach out to start up orphanages to help them sustain their program which is done along with the community |
NCR CHAPTER:

At Dhyan Foundation, the volunteers add more meaning to the children’s lives by celebrating days like Childrens’ Day and Christmas, especially for them. They sometimes get the children over to Wipro’s campus to familiarize the children with the corporate environment. They also conduct sessions on hygiene, etiquette, nutrition, environment and self-discipline |
HYDERABAD CHAPTER:

Volunteers visit Ashray Akruti every month and organize extra-curricular activities for the children. They conduct a theme based activity every month. The volunteers seek constant support from the teachers to carry out these activities |

At Aashayein Foundation, Wipro Cares volunteers participate in Sunday breakfast serving on special occasions like Childrens’ Day |

KOLKATA CHAPTER:

At ‘Towards Future’, the volunteers touch the lives of the children by visiting them on special occasions like Durga Puja. They invite the children over to the campus and arrange various competitions for them |
MUMBAI CHAPTER:

At Each One Teach One, the volunteers visit the children regularly to interact with them, understand them and conduct sessions which help the children. The common topics taken in these sessions are English, Computers, Arts and Crafts, General Knowledge, Career Guidance etc. |
PUNE CHAPTER:

Volunteers visit the Door Step School regularly to interact with the children and teach them the significance of hygiene and nutrition. They also aim at teaching the basics of English language to the children. |
