Our Work |
We believe that education is the key which can open doors to self-help and change. Bearing this in mind, Wipro Cares focuses on meeting the educational needs of the urban poor along with other initiatives.
The educational needs of children that belong to this group are often neglected due to various reasons. They have working parents who cannot afford a crèche for younger children,
and hence the older children are required to stay at home to look after their siblings. The standards of education in the cities are different than in the villages that they come from so they get disillusioned and quit school.
They also need to supplement their family’s income instead of going to school. As a result, children find jobs that can bring home extra rupees.
Often they don’t know the vernacular language of the city they have migrated to and thus don’t go to school.
Wipro Cares aims at helping these children by offering them opportunities for holistic development by running bridge schools, non formal schools and giving them vocational training.
We also help train teachers to engage with these children, with empathy. In addition, we support a school for hearing impaired children and encourage girl child education.

ROCK Fund, Bangalore : - Wipro Cares provides financial aid to support education and provide counseling support to 77 girls from economically weaker sections of society. |

Towards Future, Kolkatta : - Runs a learning center called ‘Back to Future’ for about 40 children of migrant laborers and brick kiln workers in the village of Kalikapura. |

Door Step School, Pune : - Wipro Cares is supporting a Teacher Training Centre “ Parivartan “ that has trained over a 1000 teachers so far, who then reach out to over 10000 children of Door Step School. |

Each One Teach One, Mumbai : - Supports 50 Vile Parle Municipal School children to provide them a strong educational foundation. |

Ashrya Akruti, Hyderabad : - The centre caters to the needs of hearing impaired children and provides them with special education. Through our support the center takes care of 190 children. |

Ananda Vidyalaya, Gurgaon : - Ananda Vidyalaya works with underprivileged children with a view to provide them holistic care with specific emphasis on education. The school caters to the needs of around 100 children. |

Anadanna, Bangalore : - Anadanna in Bangalore is attempting to use technology to work towards decreasing the blatant disparity in education levels effectively and inexpensively. |

Aikyatan Primary School, Midnapore : - This primary school is in a remote area in Midnapore and caters to the educational needs of around 50 children. |
